How it works

1The probes hang in the well or tank at the height of each level.
2The common probe is the longest and goes to the bottom; the minimum and maximum probes set the working band.
3The conductivity of the water closes the circuit between probes and the level relay detects it with a safe voltage.
4Float switches, instead, open or close their contact as they tilt with the water level.

Frequently asked questions

Which probes does a level relay need?

One set of 3 conductive probes per container: maximum, minimum and common, for example the SNP003. Well-and-tank relays need two sets.

Probe or float switch?

With conductive water, a level relay with SNP003 probes (or SNT003 with custom cable). For deep wells and pits, a float with counterweight SNC0xx; for tanks, a pear-type float SNP0xx.

What is the SNB001 for?

For small tanks and electronic equipment: its contact is rated 0.5 A.
