How it works

1The sensor sends pulses to the input; the unit counts them during the chosen gate time.
2With the scale factor, the display shows the speed directly (rpm or another unit).
3Each output compares the average speed with its preset: it switches on below (minimum) or above (maximum), as programmed.
4With PROG and RUN together the scale factor, decimal point, gate time and output states are programmed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the gate time?

The time during which pulses are counted to calculate the speed: 0.2, 1, 2, 5 or 10 s. A longer time gives a steadier reading.

Can it warn if the machine runs too slow or too fast?

Yes. Each of the two outputs is programmed to switch on below or above its preset.

Does it need a power supply for the sensor?

No. It has a built-in sensor power supply and accepts NPN or PNP inputs.
